Sophia and I went on our final campout of the year. The place was so nice that I have a hard time calling it a camping. There are a couple of shots from the first night that turned out beautifully. You can find them at FLICKR.
The next morning Sophia had her first zip line ride. I was amazed at how all 4 girls with her climbed the 4 story tower and took all of the cues from the man in charge without hesitation.

All Harnessed Up
I was nervous as we climbed the rickety staircases up to the top. Unlike a parent, the man up front didn't say, "If you girls get scared, you can climb back down." Instead, he simply told them what to do. "Put your knee on the line. Now zip!" All of the girls stepped off, and my stomach dropped. I was scared. She was not. Here is a clip of her brave decent. (Sorry about the sideways shot...)

From the top of the Tower
This place had 3 pools, 2 waterslides, lake swimming and slides, a rodeo, a ropes course, and kayaking and canoeing. We spent most of our time at the pool getting massive sunburns (Poor parenting in action), and watching older kids do battle on a huge inflatable rubber pillow called the blob.

What Camp has Waterslides?
Once again the grub was great: snapper the first night-- steaks the next. Below you see the bacon-wrapped, cheese stuffed, grilled jalapeno lottery. It is called the lottery, because out of 36 jalapenos, 12 had the addition of a big piece of a habanero. I was unfortunate and got the habanero on both tries.
