XIT Parade 2006 (0)
One of the best things about the XIT Rodeo and Reunion is the parade. The kids love it the same way that I did when I was a boy growing up in that small town. It’s great to see them getting excited about something that is unique to my panhandle experience.

The parade route is down the quaint, tree-lined, red-bricked Denrock Avenue. It starts on the residential end and makes it into downtown.

Sometimes the sirens or the band gets a bit too loud. Francesca now knows how to plug her ears!

Isabella Kate was on hand to nap through the festivities.

There was this small ambulance that ran along in front of a real ambulance. It got a good reaction from the kids and didn’t nearly run over any of them like some of the tricked out cars avoiding horse manure did.
Every good parade has the following:

A hardly recognized mascot to hug and frighten the kids,

Large farm equipment,

Candy to be scooped up off of the street,

And a street sweeper to clean it all up.
