Overtime Loss (0)

This has been a crazy, busy as hell few weeks. Work has been insane while life at home has been hectic. I am looking forward to a little bit of a slow down after this week.

Sunday Karen and I went to the last Stars game of the year. In a do or die game the Stars were sent to the golf course, but not with out an incredible home game that had all of the drama you could want.

On your feet!
Waving towels after a goal!

The crowd was as louder than any at the American Airlines Center. (I nearly lost my voice from screaming.) Towels were waving and fans were on their feet. Halfway through the third Mike Modano (the Stars' superstar) was knocked out cold on a vicious hit by an Avalanche defenseman. It was frightening to see a guy you've watched for years unconscious on the ice. When he came back on the ice as the overtime period started the crowd roared.

Sadly it wasn't enough. After a near-perfect regular season, my team got bounced in a disappointing first round.

All that to say this: for those of you out there who don't know anything about hockey, it is the greatest sport to watch live (especially with the new rules). I recommend that you go to a game with a friend who knows the game and can explain some of the rules. It seems confusing, but it really is a simple but exciting game.

If you can't make it to a game turn on the TV and watch some Stanley Cup playoff hockey. You won't be disappointed!
