Rosemary Verde - A Visual Journey (4)

J.D posted the recipe for this fabulous drink. One note: you may only need to infuse the vodka for 24 hours. At 48 hours my vodka was almost too infused. (Is that possible?) I think it all depends on the potency of your rosemary.

Notice the lovely green color.
Infuse the Vodka

Fresh squeezed lime juice
Mix the Ingredients

Everything is shaking...
Shake It Up!

Time to relax.
Serve

Different. Tasty. Delightful.

Nice. More pictures of a drink than your own kids.

Jeremy and I played with the ratios of the ingredients last night. When I called Ciao Vito for the recipe, the bartender gave it to me in approximates, and Jeremy used his vast drinkmixing experience to help us figure out proper ratios. Our basic conclusion: relative to the recipe I posted, we need a little more vodka, a little more lime juice, and a little less sugar. Approx 2oz vodka, 1/2oz triple sec, 2tbsp lime juice (or half a lime), just a touch of sugar (maybe none at all), and a splash of soda water.

They were a little sweeter than I would like. I had decided to cut down on the triple sec and bump the vodka.

Even a little too sweet, they were yummy!

The correct proportions:

Fill a shaker 1/3 to 1/2 full of crushed ice. Add the rosemary vodka until it just comes to the level of the ice, approx. 3 to 3 1/2 ounces, then add an ounce and a half or so of triple sec, sqeeze the juice of half a lime. Shake, Shake, Shake!!! Forget the @#$%ing sugar!

Good stuff!!
