Master Bedroom (7)
After over 3 years of sleeping in a room with unpainted, nail-hole-filled molding, and after 2 months of sleeping with all of the furniture pushed into the middle of the room, the bedroom is complete. With the new windows installed and the blinds put up to replace the sheets, we slacked off a bit (and had a busy May).
As June came to a close, Karen and I made a push to finish our bedroom. We took down and painted all of the closet doors. The baseboard molding was installed and all of the molding painted. We pulled the sashes out of each bank of windows to paint them over the course of two 100 degree days. It was hot work, but the sense of accomplishment was worth the sweat. We officially have more than 50% of the downstairs complete! Too bad we have an entire upstairs to finish when we’re done downstairs.
Our goal is to get the downstairs done before the holidays. But we have to get some painting done outside first. (It is sad when you think about the fact that we moved back into our house in fall 2001, and there are still a few things that need to be painted outside.)

Post it! (I hear you've been really getting stuff done...)

But, Rich, if he posted photos of his work, that'd hide the two-week old page featuring Emma with holes in her soap. I love looking at that several times a day. (NOT!)
More pictures, Jerm! More pictures, Rich!

That looks really nice, Rich.
There's just something about the satisfaction of seeing the "Finished Product" that makes these home improvement projects worth all the time and sweat we put into them.
Oh, and give Jeremy a break about posting pictures, he was over here sweatin' it out in my back yard yesterday when he could have been posting pictures... of course we all know he would have just used that time to finish his own projects, but still...

Thanks Jeff. (BTW, what cordless tool set did you end up with? The link on your entry didn't take me to the right place...)
As for Jeremy, I wasn't giving him a hard time. J.D. was doing that!
Jeremy is fantastic help on projects, especially when you give him a 4.5 pound buffalo chop!

Hmmm... the link worked when I put it up... Home Depot must have changed something on their website.
Anyway, I ended up with a $170 18v Ryobi set that includes a 1/2" chuck cordless drill, reciprocating saw, circular saw, flashlight and mini vacuum. Maybe this direct link to Ryobi's site will work: "Super" Combo Kit. It served it's purpose very well.
I really wanted something contractor grade (like Dewalt), but I just couldn't justify spending the extra cash on something that really won't get used that much. Maybe in 10 years when I have to replace this set...

Hey I ate almost 3/4 of that chop!!! An man was it good. I'm sure glad it wasn't really 4.5 pounds.
